Grandfather's Place: From Sparta, NC go US Hwy. 21 North 2.94 miles to US Hwy. 221 South. Go 221 South for 3.36 miles and turn right onto Walnut Branch Church Road. Go 1.32 miles and turn right onto Stratford Road. You will go about 1.4 miles when you will see the drive on your left. There will be a sign that reads 1762 on the fence. You will also notice a large red barn on your immediate left as you enter the drive. You will travel .7 miles where you will find
Grandfathers Place.

Spicer Cottage From Sparta, NC go US Hwy. 21 North 2.94 miles to US Hwy. 221 South. Take 221 South for 8.66 miles. Turn left onto NC Hwy.113 South and go about 1.4 miles and turn left onto Sweet Hollow Road. You will find the drive on your right with a sign that reads 308. You will see Spicer Cottage and large pond.
